Parking permits

To balance the needs of residents, local businesses and other groups who require access to parking, Slough Borough Council issues a variety of permits for on and off street parking.

Resident parking permits

If you live within any of the resident parking zones found in the list of zones document you can apply for a residents parking permit. Please note that any resident who purchases a new development where parking is not provided, would not be eligible for a residents permit. To apply for a residents permit you must supply proof of residency and proof of vehicle ownership (the vehicle must be registered at the address your permit is for):

Residents parking permits are issued for 1 year and cost:

  • £25 for a 1st residents permit
  • £50 for a 2nd residents permit.

Please note: a third resident’s permit is only issued in very exceptional circumstances and to be considered you must email: parking@slough.gov.uk or apply in writing to Parking Services, St Martins Place, 51 Bath Road, SL1 3UF.

Renew your Resident Permit

We will send you a renewal letter at the beginning of the month that your permit is due to run out and also enclosed an application form. Please complete this form and return it to the parking shop, either in person or by post, to renew your permit. You must supply proof of address and vehicle ownership when renewing your permit and payment.

Sending payments by post

Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to Slough Borough Council.

Do not send cash in the post.

Where can I park?

  • A residents parking permit only permits you to park in permit bays and shared permit and pay & display bays within your Residents Parking Zone.
  • A resident permit does not guarantee you a parking space.
  • You cannot park in pay & display bays (within their hours of operation), loading bays, disabled bays, on single or double yellow lines or in suspended parking bays.

Visitor parking permits

If you live within any of the resident parking zones you can buy visitor parking permits at the Parking Shop for your visitors to use when they visit your property. All vouchers are sold in books of 5 except weekly vouchers that are sold separately:

  • 3 hours - £2.50
  • 6 hours - £5.00
  • 12 hours - £7.50
  • 24 hours - £15.00
  • 1 week - £15.00.

General terms

  • You MUST supply proof of address to be eligible to purchase these vouchers - the list of acceptable items of proof of residency can be found on the application/renewal form for residents parking permit.
  • 360 hours per year is the maximum you can buy.
  • Adults over 60 receive a 50% discount - proof of age will need to be provided.

Business permit

If you are employed by or own a business within any of the resident parking zones below you can apply for a business permit. A maximum of 1 permit is permitted per property and they are issued yearly at a cost of £300. When applying for a business permit you must supply proof of company residency, proof of vehicle ownership and proof of employment.

Carers permit

If you live within any of the resident parking zones below and require a carer to visit you on a regular basis you can apply for a carers permit. A maximum of 1 parking permit is permitted per property and they are issued yearly at a cost of £25. When applying for a carers permit you must supply proof of residency and proof that you are in need of or have a carer.

Dispensations

If you are carrying out utility or road works and need to park within a residential parking zone or on a single or double yellow line you can apply for a dispensation. When applying for a dispensation you must supply proof that you are carrying out works.

The costs of the dispensations are:

  • £30 for a week
  • £10 for a day.

Car park permits

Anyone can apply for a permit to park in any of our car parks we sell monthly, 6 monthly and yearly permits. Car parks a permit can be purchased for are:
