Local councillors from Slough Borough Council were given the opportunity to get a sneak peak of the eagerly anticipated Wexham Green development by Slough Urban Renewal (SUR) this week.
SUR invited its partners within the council to a special preview of the newly completed sales and marketing suite on site on Wednesday 3rd May.
Guests at the preview were given a tour of the marketing suite and were able to see the construction progress first hand. They had the opportunity to view the development model and to see samples of the specification materials, ahead of a public launch planned for later this month.
Wexham Green comprises a collection of 104 two, three and four family bedroom homes. The scheme is the second residential development to be delivered by Slough Urban Renewal (SUR), a joint venture between Slough Borough Council and Morgan Sindall Investments Limited.
It follows the huge success of their Milestone development, which is nearly all sold and where all of the houses have been sold to home owners and over 60% to local people.
Andy Howell, General Manager at Slough Urban Renewal said, “Today’s event was a great opportunity for us to provide a first glimpse of the new homes at Wexham Green, which we will be releasing for sale later this month.
"We are very excited about our imminent launch here, which maintains the high standard of specification, set by the Milestone development.
"The homes here will directly meet the local need within the borough, providing much needed family housing and we are already experiencing a high level of enquires.”
Councillor Zaffar Ajaib, commissioner for housing and urban renewal, said: “Wexham Green is a tremendous development; family sized housing, lovely green surroundings and a mix of housing designs which will really appeal to local residents.
“I think it will be very popular and a fantastic addition to the borough.”
Wexham Green will offer both private homes and those for affordable rent. Help to Buy will be available on selected plots.
