Meet children's authors this summer!

Local authors Tim and Cathy Walker introduce their new children's book Lots of events are happening this summer, from craft, to animation to orgami, comedy and authors!

Local authors Tim and Cathy Walker are debuting their new children's book Charly Holmes - Teen Detective!

Come along for story telling and ask any questions you like about writing a book. This is a great chance to fill in information about a writer for your Arts Award Discover.

Maritime Memories Machine visits Slough!

Share your memories of the sea this summer! This summer the Maritime Memories Machine is touring the country, collecting stories of the sea from everyone it meets.

The Maritime Memory Catchers are searching for sea themed memories/stories/moments to help fuel the van. Join in with some sea shanties, create a poem, investigate the handling collection or simply watch events unfold. Catch the machine at: 

  • Britwell Library Wednesday 23 August 10am-4pm
  • Cippenham Library Friday 25 August 10am-4pm
  • Slough town centre Saturday 26 August 10am-4pm


Join the Summer Reading Challenge - Animal Agents TODAY!

Join in the summer reading challenge in libraries 1 July - 16 September This summer, between 1 July to 16 September, we want YOU to tip toe in to the library and bring out your inner Sherlock, by joining in the ‘Animal Agents’.

The Summer Reading Challenge is FREE to take part in and children aged 0-11, are encouraged to read any six books and collect spectacular prizes including stickers, bookmarks, wristbands and a special Animal Agents bag!

Complete the challenge to earn a certificate AND a medal!
