Babies & Todders

Give your baby a head start and introduce them to Slough Libraries and Culture! Take a look at our Little Ones in the Library leaflet for more information.

Sharing books with your baby or toddler on a regular basis impacts positively on their learning and development and can be a way to introduce them to new experiences. Your baby will love to hold and feel the colourful and stimulating books available.
We have a wide selection of picture and board books in English as well as in a variety of different languages.

Bear's Reading Adventure

Children can receive a colourful sticker storybook and collect a missing object sticker every time they visit the library to stick in and complete their book. With 10 stickers to collect, it's the perfect reason to visit the library more often and get children loving libraries and books. There’s even a downloadable certificate to celebrate your child’s achievement once they complete the adventure..

Music and Story TimesChildren enjoyingmusic and storytime

Come and join in the fun at our weekly story, rhyme and music time sessions which are held in all our libraries. It is a great way of interacting with your baby or toddler. Share some old rhymes, learn some new ones and meet other families too. There are music and story times at all our libraries throughout the week at all our libraries.
Looking for more activities for preschool children? We have a variety of sessions including colouring, crafts, weaning group and messy play at different sites, plus find LEGO and DUPLO sessions at every library.
Check out Library news and events for details.

Bookstart bears reading Your child is eligible for free Bookstart packs to encourage you to share books with your child and develop a love of books and reading. Packs for babies age 0-12 months will be given out by the register office when you register the birth, or can be obtained from your health visitor.
They are also entitled to a pack at 3 years of age when they enter a nursery setting. Alternatively, you can collect any of these packs at your local library or Children's Centres if you have not received one.
