Slough Borough Council’s Active Slough team is delighted to be hosting the Slough 5k Fun Run, sponsored by Everyone Active, at Upton Court Park on Sunday 23 June.
Building on the legacy of the Family 5k which took place in October 2018, as part of the Slough Half Marathon, we’re bringing this family friendly event back for 2019! Walk, jog or run the picturesque route which takes in views of Windsor Castle. All finishers will receive a medal and goodie bag.
The start and finish will be next to Slough Rugby Football Club. There is limited parking at Upton Court Park so we encourage all participant to walk, cycle or use public transport when travelling to the event. Or alternatively use the town centre car parks.
There will be a number of family activities taking place on the day with a dedicated sports zone, plus live arts and cultural performances.
Refreshments will also be available, as Slough Rugby Football Club will be opening their clubhouse doors to provide catering.
The race will start at 10am but we are asking all runners to arrive at 9.15am to register for the event and collect their race wristband. Please note the event will not be chip timed.
After signing up, all runners will receive regular e-newsletter updates with training tips, nutrition ideas and other helpful information.
The event will be started by a special guest, an Olympian and World Champion Finalist, details to be revealed shortly!
If you don’t want to run but would still like to be involved, why not volunteer for the event? We require support with marshalling, handing out medals / goodie bags, and staffing the registration and information desks.
Contact the Active Slough team on 01753 875784 or via firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest in volunteering.
All under 12s must be accompanied by an adult throughout the race.
