Complaint about a councillor

All councillors should behave with the utmost integrity and propriety. They are required to give an undertaking to abide by a code of conduct which sets out how they should behave when acting in their capacity as a member of the council.

The Code of Conduct sets out the complaints process and the investigation and determination of complaints.

If you want to complain about the conduct of a Slough Borough Council councillor or one of our parish councillors, you must submit your complaint using the online complaint form, or by downloading and completing the form below. Please ensure that you read the councillor complaints guidance prior to completing the form.

If you make a complaint it must be about why you think a councillor has not followed the Code of Conduct. A breach of the code may include:

  • bullying
  • disclosing confidential information
  • disreputable conduct
  • improper use of their position
  • misuse of council facilities or resources
  • accepting inappropriate gifts or hospitality.

All complaints referred for investigation or other action will be managed by the council’s monitoring officer.
